
BONNEY LAKE, Wash. – Part of State Route 410 was closed Wednesday night a mile east of Bonney Lake due to a head-on collision that left one man dead and two injured, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The pickup was traveling east on Highway 410 when it crossed the centerline and collided with the Escape, which was coming from the other direction, according to the preliminary investigation. Following reports of a serious accident, state troopers arrived on the site at approximately 8:10 p.m.
A 33-year-old Black Diamond driver of the Ford Escape was transported to St. Joseph Hospital after suffering severe injuries. Minor injuries were also sustained by a female passenger in the Escape.
While troopers cleared the site and conducted an investigation, the highway was closed in both directions for over four hours. On Thursday, the road was reopened shortly before 12:30 a.m.
Authorities stated that it is clear whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident.
