Fatal Crash on Palisades Interstate Parkway Leaves One Dead, Several Injured
A fatal two-vehicle collision on the Palisades Interstate Parkway near the New York State line resulted in one fatality and multiple injuries early Friday morning.
According to authorities, the crash occurred at approximately 5:58 a.m. in the parkway’s southbound lanes. Emergency responders pronounced one occupant dead at the scene, while several others suffered serious injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital.
The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Palisades Interstate Parkway Police Department have launched a joint investigation into the fatal crash. As of now, the identities of those involved have not been released.
The accident caused significant disruptions to traffic, with both north and southbound lanes of the Palisades Interstate Parkway shut down near Orangeburg, NY. Motorists were advised to expect delays and seek alternative routes.
