Plane Crashes in Russia’s Far East — All 49 Feared Dead
Flight Went Missing Near Tynda
A passenger plane carrying 49 people never made it to Tynda on Thursday. It dropped off radar — just disappeared — somewhere over the hills in Russia’s Far East.
The aircraft, an Antonov An-24, had taken off from Blagoveshchensk. It was almost there. About 16 kilometres out, contact was lost.

Rescue Crews Find Wreckage
Hours later, a chopper spotted what was left of the plane. Wreckage on a slope. Still burning.
Rescuers got to the crash site — but found no signs of life. Just smoke and twisted metal.
Onboard: 43 Passengers, 6 Crew. Officials said there were 43 passengers, including five children. Six crew members, too.
Based on what responders saw, it looks like the plane caught fire when it hit.
No Roads, No Easy Access
The crash site sits in rough terrain — muddy, wet, and hard to reach.
They sent in 25 responders, four aircraft, and some heavy equipment. Others were standing by in case.
Chances of Survival Look Slim
TASS news agency, quoting emergency crews, said it doesn’t look like anyone made it. No survivors found. That’s what the first team reported.
No names have been shared yet.
Old Model, Still in Use
The An-24 was built back in 1976. It’s an older aircraft — common on regional routes in Russia.
This flight was run by Angara Airlines, a company based in Irkutsk, Siberia.
What Caused the Crash?
Russia’s emergency officials are investigating. The Interstate Aviation Committee is also stepping in.
For now, the reason for the crash isn’t clear.
