Wayne County, Ohio – The agricultural community of Wayne County is reeling in shock and grief following the sudden and tragic loss of Reed Hostetler, a devoted farmer, husband, and father.
Reed Hostetler, 43, passed away on March 3, 2025, in a farming accident that has left his loved ones, friends, and fellow farmers heartbroken.
The outpouring of condolences and tributes from the community reflects the profound impact Reed had on those around him. He was remembered for his tireless work ethic, generosity, and unwavering dedication to his community.
Reed’s untimely death has created a void in the lives of those who knew him, and he will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the entire Wayne County farming community.

Reed Hostetler Obituary and Funeral Arrangements
Reed Hostetler, a devoted husband, father, and farmer, passed away on March 3, 2025, at the age of 43. Born on November 23, 1993, Reed grew up with a strong faith and a passion for adventure.
Reed’s love for Jesus was instilled in him by his family, and he carried this faith with him throughout his life. He attended Smithville High School, where he played football and wrestled, and later graduated from the Ag Mechanics program at the Career Center in 2012. Reed furthered his education by completing his associate’s degree in Dairy Management from OSU ATI in 2014.
Reed’s adventurous spirit led him to pursue various passions, including bull riding, hiking the Appalachian Trail, and mission work in Thailand. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed boating, water skiing, wakeboarding, camping, and hunting.
As a co-owner of L&R Dairy Farm, Reed worked tirelessly to build a successful business and legacy. He was known for his exceptional work ethic, sharp business mind, and ability to form lasting relationships with those around him.
Reed’s greatest joy was his family. He married his wife, Abby, on the farm in 2018, and they had three children together, Baer, Claire, and Axe. Reed was a devoted husband and father, and his love for his family was evident to all who knew him.
Reed’s family and friends take comfort in knowing that he is now in the presence of Jesus, and they celebrate his life, legacy, and the impact he had on those around him.
Burial Arrangements:
Friends may call on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at L & R Dairy Farm, 12599 Fulton Road, Marshallville, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
Services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, at L & R Dairy Farm, with Pastor Ryan Klotzle officiating.
Outdoor clothing is recommended due to the weather.
