Alan Leonhard Death-Obituary: Fatal Motorcycle Accident Claims Life of Machesney Park Man
MACHESNEY PARK, Ill. (WREX) — A tragic incident occurred on Tuesday evening in Machesney Park, Illinois, resulting in the death of a 68-year-old man. Alan Leonhard, a local resident, lost his life after crashing his motorcycle on North 2nd Street, just north of Illinois Route 173.
According to authorities, Leonhard was riding his motorcycle at approximately 7:15 p.m. when he lost control and crashed. Responding emergency personnel from the Harlem-Roscoe Fire Department and Winnebago County Sheriff’s Deputies found Leonhard unresponsive on the roadway. Despite life-saving efforts, Leonhard was taken to a local hospital, where he succumbed to head trauma caused by the crash.
The Winnebago County Coroner’s Office and the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office are conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident. The incident has left the community in shock, and authorities are working to determine the cause of the crash.
