
Kyle Mitchell Death-Obituary: Fatal Shooting in Hewitt, Texas Claims One Life
A fatal shooting occurred on Thursday, April 3, around 11:00 p.m. in the 600 block of N. Hewitt Dr. at the Brookside Apartments in Hewitt, Texas. The Hewitt Police Department responded to a call from a woman reporting a man had been shot inside one of the apartments.
Victim Identified
Police found the victim, 27-year-old Kyle Mitchell, inside an apartment with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:38 p.m. by medical personnel.
Investigation and Arrest
According to witnesses, an argument between two men outside an apartment led to one of them pulling out a handgun and shooting Mitchell several times. The suspect, identified as 26-year-old Keimori Taylor of Waco, fled the scene in a white car. The Hewitt Police Department, assisted by the Bellmead and Waco Police Departments, located Taylor’s vehicle and took him into custody without incident. An arrest warrant for murder was issued for Taylor, who is currently being held at the McLennan County Jail.
