Stewart Friesen Injured in Drummond Crash
Drummondville, QC — Stewart Friesen crashed Monday night during a Super DIRTcar Series event at Autodrome Drummond.
He went into Turn 3, hit the outside wall, flipped several times, then the car caught fire. Another driver made contact right after.
Officials helped him out. EMTs took him to the hospital.
The series confirmed he was awake and speaking at the track.
Other drivers didn’t report injuries.
Friesen also raced at Lucas Oil Indianapolis last week. He led laps but got disqualified after finishing third. Tech issue after the race.
He’s still in the Truck Series playoffs thanks to his Michigan win earlier this season.
Next two races: Watkins Glen on August 8, Richmond on August 15. No update yet on whether he’ll be racing.
