Owen Briggs Death-Obituary: Tragic Car Accident Claims Life of Hamilton High School Junior
SUSSEX, Wis. – A devastating car accident took the life of Owen Briggs, a junior at Hamilton High School, on April 1st in Menomonee Falls.
The Menomonee Falls Police Department responded to a single-car crash on Lannon Road around 3:35 p.m., where a 2007 Toyota Corolla veered off the road and collided with a tree, engulfing the vehicle in flames.
Upon extinguishing the fire, firefighters discovered Briggs, the sole occupant, deceased inside the car. The investigation is ongoing, with preliminary indications suggesting speed may have played a role in the fatal crash.
Hamilton School District Superintendent Paul Mielke, Ph.D., shared the news with families, offering condolences and guidance on supporting their children during this difficult time. The district’s student services team will provide support to students and staff throughout the week.
This incident marks the second student fatality in the Hamilton School District this year, following a tragic school bus accident in January.
