
Pedestrian Struck by Train in Vanderburgh County
A serious incident occurred in Vanderburgh County on March 29th, 2025, at approximately 12:27 AM, when a pedestrian was struck by a train near the intersection of N. Peerless Rd and Upper Mount Vernon Rd.
First responders from the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office, Perry Township Firefighters, and AMR Paramedics quickly arrived on the scene, where they found a conscious and breathing individual with injuries approximately 300 feet from the locomotive.
The injured pedestrian was transported to Deaconess Midtown Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Law enforcement personnel remained on the scene for several hours to process and document the area.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is ongoing, with authorities working to determine the cause of the collision.
