
A fatal collision between a high-speed ICE train and a truck occurred on the outskirts of Hamburg, Germany, resulting in one death and 25 injuries, with six serious cases.
The Authorities reported that the accident happened on Tuesday when the train, carrying 291 passengers, struck a truck loaded with rails at a crossing.
A 55-year-old passenger sustained major injuries from the accident and was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses described the train ramming the truck, shattering windows in the front cars, and scattering the truck’s load around the site.
The uninjured passengers were evacuated and transported to a nearby station by bus. The truck driver was taken in for questioning, but the cause of the accident remains unclear.
By Wednesday morning, the train had been removed, and one track of the railway line had been reopened.
The accident is till under investigation.
