
Two Killed in Head-On Crash Over Truman Lake
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a tragic accident that happened on Friday night, April 25, 2025, on Highway 7 over Truman Lake, resulting in the deaths of two people from Clinton at 8:45 p.m.
According to report, a 2012 Dodge Avenger driven by a 44-year-old woman crossed into the path of a 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by a 26-year-old man. The two vehicles collided head-on, and the Tahoe subsequently struck the bridge and plunged into the water.
The Tahoe was towing a trailer and boat at the time of the accident. Crews worked throughout Saturday to pull the submerged SUV out of the lake, which had sunk to a depth of around 50 feet.
The mile-long bridge was reduced to one lane for most of the day on Saturday as recovery efforts were underway.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
