
A multi-vehicle collision on the A13 in Southend this morning has left two people injured, with one potentially suffering serious injuries. The incident occurred at around 9am today, February 14, closing the busy A road in both directions.
According to Essex Police, the crash involved three cars and happened in Bournes Green Chase, Southend. Emergency services, including police, paramedics, and an air ambulance, responded quickly to the scene.
Two patients were transported to Southend University Hospital by road for further assessment and treatment. An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson confirmed that three ambulances, an ambulance officer vehicle, and the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance were sent to the scene.
Essex Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward. Anyone with information, CCTV, dashcam, or other footage related to the incident is urged to contact the force, quoting incident 283 of February 14.
The investigation is ongoing, and police are working to determine the cause of the crash.
