Due to three incidents this morning, drivers were experiencing lengthy delays on the M60. A broken-down car caused huge lines to form on the M60 anticlockwise.
Two lanes of traffic were blocked between the M61’s junctions 15 and 16 at Clifton. Traffic is tailing back past M62 westbound junction 19, close to Heywood, according to Google statistics.
An official from National Highways posted on X: “A broken-down car caused two (of four) lanes on the #M60 in #GreaterManchester to close anticlockwise between J16 #Clifton and J15 #Bolton. We appreciate your patience and ask that you give yourself more time for your trip.
The Inrix traffic monitoring system reported that a “medical emergency” had forced the closure of one lane on the M60 clockwise. Between Simister Island’s junction 18 and Heaton Park’s junction 19, the lane was closed.
After the incident occurred, two lanes were blocked for around two hours. Since then, all three incidents have been reopened.
