
University of Utah Skier Johs Braathena Herland Named RMISA Co-MVP
Salt Lake City, UT – University of Utah alpine skier Johs Braathena Herland has been named the Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Skiing Association (RMISA) Co-Most Valuable Player (MVP) in men’s giant slalom.
Herland, a freshman from Kongsberg, Norway, accumulated 152 NCAA qualification points during the regular season, tying him with Louis Fausa of the University of Colorado for the top spot in the RMISA.
Throughout the season, Herland has consistently demonstrated exceptional skiing skills, finishing in the top 10 in 10 out of 12 races, with five podium finishes. His first collegiate victory came in giant slalom at the Montana State Invitational.
Herland’s impressive performance has earned him a spot at the upcoming NCAA Championships, where he will make his debut alongside his teammates. The championships will take place in New England, with alpine events being held at the Dart Lake Skiway in Lyme Center, New Hampshire.
This is the third MVP award for the University of Utah this season, following Erica Lavén’s MVP awards in women’s classic and freestyle.
