
Gainesville Motorcycle Crash Leaves Rider in Critical Condition
A 19-year-old Wesley Chapel man is fighting for his life after a motorcycle crash on I-75 in Gainesville last night. The incident occurred at approximately 11:20 p.m. on March 28, when the motorcyclist was traveling southbound at a high rate of speed in the right lane near mile marker 387 (Newberry Road).
The motorcyclist rear-ended an SUV driven by a 53-year-old Gainesville woman, who was also traveling southbound in the right lane. The impact caused the motorcyclist to be ejected onto the roadway, despite wearing a helmet.
The rider was transported to a hospital in critical condition. The SUV driver, who was wearing a seatbelt, was uninjured.
