
Fatal Car Accident Austin, TX Today
Austin, TX – A devastating multi-vehicle collision occurred on Interstate 35 southbound near Parmer Lane in North Austin on Thursday night, resulting in five fatalities and several injuries.
According to the Texas Department of Transportation, the crash happened just before 11:30 p.m. and involved a semi-truck. Emergency medical services treated 17 patients, with Austin-Travis County EMS reporting five dead at the scene, including one infant, one child, and three adults.
Eleven other patients were transported, with two adults taken to St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. The names and ages of the victims have not been released.
The cause of the fatal crash is currently under investigation. Authorities have closed all I-35 southbound lanes, with traffic being redirected to Parmer Lane. The main lanes are expected to remain closed for several more hours, and drivers are advised to find an alternate route if possible.
